Kimberly Ramos

Kimberly Ramos is an internationally recognized dancer, choreographer, instructor born in Toronto, Canada. She is the co-founder and director of Araguacu Latin Dance Company, one of the most distinguished Bachata/Salsa dance schools in Canada. 


Born into a Dominican and Colombian family where music and dance were very much a part of daily life, Kim was raised amongst the infectious rhythms of Salsa and Bachata. Throughout her school years, her interest in history and culture sparked her pursuit of the arts and dance. At the age of 25, Kim launched her professional dance career with the inception of her own dance company, Araguacu.


In addition to taking private lessons, master bootcamps, online lessons and general lessons with Salsa/Bachata masters, Kim has trained under the mentorship of Rodrigo Cortazar, Franklin Diaz, Adolfo Indacochea, Tania Cannarsa, Jorjet Alcocer, Carlos Cinta, Sarita Leyva and many others. 

Kim has performed and taught all around the world including the top cities in Canada, United States, Mexico, China, Australia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Sweden, and France.

She has danced live onstage with legendary recording artists Oscar D'Leon, Grupo Niche, Andy Montañez, Luis Vargas, to name a few.


For more than 11 years, Kim has specialized in teaching and promoting Salsa and Bachata, capturing the hearts of her community; locally and abroad. 

Her enthusiastic personality and genuine love and passion for Salsa/Bachata, has cultivated a unique teaching style that brings flare, energy and fun to any class. Because Kim believes students should familiarize themselves with music and their roots, her classes always include an educational component of history and a music selection that varies from different eras, regions and artists. 


Kim has continually shown commitment to evolving her talent and skill, by always maintaining a student first mentality, so that she can continue to elevate and inspire the Toronto dance community. Her methodology emphasizes respecting the roots, while promoting the importance in cultivating freedom of expression in dance. 

Through Kim's genuine love for the art form, and the journey of growth, she advocates for vulnerability, inspiring others to find their voice in dance, and accepting that sometimes, this means feeling the fear, but doing it anyways!
