Anaita Kharwanwala

Anaita is Indian-Canadian and grew up in Toronto, Canada. Coming from a non-latin background, many have been curious as to what brought her to the world of latin dance. One word - Community. From the moment she entered the latin dance scene, she has experienced the feeling of belonging, she had found her family.

Anaita started dancing in 2015, where she first joined the University of Ottawa Salsa Club (UoSalsa). She established herself in the Ottawa dance scene by becoming the President of UoSalsa, which then led her to co-direct her own dance team, Resonancia.

She has extensive experience teaching weekly beginner salsa and bachata classes to the community, as well as private lessons. In addition, she has choreographed multiple routines, performed, and brought teams to different latin dance congresses across Canada.

Anaita joined Araguacu in 2020 and has been training extensively with Kim and Geo, as well as various international artists. She is known for her soft following and graceful style. She enjoys welcoming new members to the dance community and loves to share her knowledge and passion for latin dance. Anaita continues to learn the history, music, and foundations of salsa and bachata, and is working towards becoming an adept follow and lead!
